These lines by Rabindranath Tagore clearly indicate the vision of our forefathers for the future of a free India. Staying in sync with these thoughts to a great extent, we are living in a free country today, a country that we love, respect and admire.

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vigor at Virka this year. Both the branches were beautifully decorated with balloons, flags and ribbons early morning on 14^th August, in the hues of our national flag. The colors of sacrifice, peace and prosperity provided a charming and sheer patriotic effect to the office premises. In addition to the above, everyone was dressed in one or the other color of national flag, providing a change to the everyday office attire.

As the staff members started stepping in one by one, the pleasant surprise on their faces was enough to show their appreciation for the idea & efforts that were put in. The atmosphere started filling in with the feel of independence and national pride. Everyone was overjoyed to reach the workstation, as a national flag was waving at them at every system.

As the day progressed, the patriotism started to ooze out of every employee, and it started to spread like an infection from one person to another, reaching its peak, at half an hour session that was utilized to weigh the current scenario of our country along with discussing everyone’s dream India, political system of India and relevance of freedom to them. Everyone kept on drenching in the feeling of national pride with patriotic songs and slogans echoing in the office during the breaks.

The Independence Day celebration at Virka was definitely a day to remember for a long time. Everyone enjoyed the day, and appreciated the initiative taken to make this day as memorable as it has been.

Like always, this month was also pretty power-packed. In addition to receiving natural endowments like the monsoon showers & pleasant weather, we made these hot summers alleviating by enjoying some exotic activities, organized by the management.

To the delight of all, Management organized the much awaited Dance Party on 24^th of this month in Abiss, which was awesome! Everyone rocked the dance floor. Be it boys or girls, all were dancing on the tunes. The best part was when Amit Sir entered & joined the dance floor. People from both the branches enjoyed a lot there.

Then on 27th July, we celebrated Star of the Month eve. This month’s star performers were Mohit Malik, who won Platinum Award, the gold-award-winner Parvinder and Amrita, who bagged the Silver Award.

Further, the leadership Award was won by Jaanvi and Ajeet Singh grabbed the honor of Pioneer award.

Last but not the least was the Birthday Bash, which was celebrated on 31^st July. This month we had six people to celebrate their birthdays all together. The group of birthday-buddies includes Vivek, Ashutosh, Arun, Rohit, Chinky, Baljeet and Simrat.

To the sum, the month of July was altogether fun-filled!

Well, let me tell you that it’s about our activity session that we had on July 17^th, 2010(Saturday). It was an awesome experience seeing everybody laughing, giggling while participating in the innovative activities planned by the HR dept. As a surprise, a contest for Best Dressed Male and female was held. Everyone participated in it by voting.

After our long work shifts, everyone longs for a refreshing break, the time in which they can bring out the child inside them. That is the time when we can actually see the real personality of a person, and to check it, nothing can be as good as icebreakers. The activities were Leadership strategies and Big and Better both the activities were so good that all of us participated fully and the team spirit was incredible.

Moreover, to buff up enthuse among employees we had the most talented anchor ever, Mr. Ranjeet Singh, who by way of his out-of-the-ordinary potential energized VISians to get involved into the activities with full zest & zeal.

In the Leadership strategies, all were divided into three teams, every team tried to its best but Pavittar’s team finally succeeded in doing that. The crux of the activity was that how the team was able to coordinate with each other despite the fact that there was less space, though they managed to stand together.

Second activity was Big and Better. In this, the teams were to make bigger but meaningful thing out of four sheets of paper. All the three teams made various strategies but here too, Pavittar’s team won. This activity was to make us understand that if in a team, we have consensus, we can turn the tables.

And there was a surprise too! Beautiful Rashi Kalra and Mr. Muscular, Vikas Verma were honored with the award for the best dressed employees by Mr. Rohit Anand, Miss Shikha Latawa and Miss Deepika Batra. We had black and blue theme and these two were looking stunning in that color.

Last but not the least, there was also feedback session between management and the employees. In that all participated by giving suggestions, feedbacks and discussing their problems.

On the whole, the weather and the session actually made our day!

Just wanted to update you guys about an activity session we recently had.

I’m really glad to tell you that the activity sessions in the Delhi team have become special part of Virka.

One can see the enthusiasm of the entire team when it comes to activity. Well, this also happens when they have to beat their daily challenges, but it bounces up automatically when these activity sessions take place.

These sessions not only entertain the team but also sharpen their skills.

Another thing worth mentioning is that these sessions leave an enriching and enjoyable experience for everyone.

So, now you know what kind of fun these activity sessions manage to spread in the team, let me tell you more about the same. Like every activity session, this one also had a dress code or theme, wherein the females had to wear Sarees and the males were to wear formals.

The result of course was that everybody looked stunning with the boys looking incredibly handsome and girls were looking extremely gorgeous. Everyone had a nice choice of clothes, which created a sort of mood for the session.

Believe me friends, it was a perfect day for a photo-session and that’s precisely what we did!!

The session was divided into two different activities- an Ice-breaking and another that had some meaning behind it as well.

In the ice breaking activity, we all had to guess who the leader was? We were to mislead the person who had come to judge the leader, and I must say, we did a very good job at it. Our secret leader gave us perfect directions to mislead the person doing the judgment.

Some were dancing, shaking their legs, and some were moving their heads like ducks! All this was for the person who was to find out the mystery of the leader. Lolz!

The second activity was really mind-blowing, because we had to find different hidden items in pairs.

There were two special rules to this game –

1. One was blindfolded, while the other had to direct the blindfolded member of the pair.
2. We had to find the things without touching our partners.

So the main aim was to device a plan that would lead us to the hidden stuff, without looking around and taking physical help from our partners.

It was fun to see how people devised plans and executed them, making a funny situation in the end, which arose out of the wrongly followed or wrongly given directions to the blindfolded partner.

All of us decided a few codes, which were used while to direct the person who was blindfold. Some of us experimented with the ties that the boys wore, while others tried out the same trick with claps and whistles.

Oh! I can’t forget the time everything was on the brink of going haywire and all the others who were uninvolved at that time, were laughing their heads off!!

Winding up, all I can say is that things would have been even more exciting, if Sagar Sir had been a part of all the excitement and merriment.

Three cheers for Virka….Hip Hip Hurray… Hip Hip Hurray… Hip Hip Hurray!!!

As everyday when we start work, we don’t think that we have to complete it only, but we believe in giving our best, and with that belief we not only achieve our targets, but exceed those to the extremities. Achieving the highest target so far, we (DTS-Team) are really very happy to be a part of Virka Solutions, where we have got such a nice launch pad to perform and prove our caliber to the competitors.

Reaching at the top and leaving the competitors behind is not a small task. This requires unending dedication and focus in work, which our teams have in them certainly. That is why, when our team of Moviewatchlist achieved the highest traffic so far, everyone was extremely excited and we’re sure that the management must be happy with this.

It was an unexpected but a lovely surprise! And the aftermaths of it was undoubtedly surprising! The management threw a pizza party for all on July 3^rd and sliced the cake for their achievements. It was very pleasant gathering for us, but this wasn’t all, management also announced that very soon they’re going to organize a happening dance party to honor this accomplishment. People in Virka are on cloud nine, as this accomplishment brought a new zeal and enthusiasm in them and further motivates them to achieve even more.

Birthdays are often celebrated in the company, but today it was all special as our President Mr. Sagar Dhingra alongwith Company’s VP Mr. Amit Arora, also joined us on the occasion. The environment simply got filled with humor when these seniors poked fun at some common problems that one usually faces whilst daily-grind. It was laughter all around and we really had a huge fun today.

That day is not far when everyone in this IT Sector will know Virka very well. Last evening also, to celebrate a new matter of happiness (i.e. opening of the new branch at Bharat Nagar Chowk in Ludhiana), Amit Sir threw a party at our new branch office. Our Employee of the month was also announced there.

This month, our top performers were Pavittar, who got Leadership Award, Amrita who got Platinum Award, Mohit Kumar got Gold Award and Vikas  Minhaas was honored with Silver Award.

After this event, there was snack party in which Amit sir sliced the cake and congratulated all for their hard work and for new branch as well.

It was real fun time!

In order to honor their spirit, we arranged a movie show for them on 30^th April at PVR, Ludhiana. The movie was good and we had a fun blast.

But this wasn’t all. We also had a pizza party along with soft drinks.
